Rick, Jackie, Susan and Alexandria came for a visit from Newfoundland at the end of
June and spent Canada Day with us.
Jackie discovered Ikea and they all spent over an hour at the Disney Store (poor
Rick :-) The weather was extremely hot, with the humidex of around 40 degrees
for the majority of their visit. We had a great thunderstorm at supper time
on Canada Day and that seemed to put an end to the humidity thank the Lord!!!
We went to Parliament Hill to celebrate Canada Day with the other 40,000 crazy people. We
got there just in time for Alexandria to see Kalyan Porter perform. The worst part was
when we, along with the 40,000 other people, tried to leave the downtown core after the
fireworks. Only a bit of pushing and shoving and we were on our way.
They left on July 2 and headed to Toronto. We're going to meet up again in a week
at Cathy's house, then they'll be heading back.
