Since moving to the country, I have found a vast amount of odd things living in our backyard.
With digital camera in hand, I have snapped a few pictures to show Pam because
she will not come out and have a close look at what I have found.
I find these creatures quite fascinating and some grotesque...Pam usually has a fit.

Early last Summer I discovered this nest in the tree just outside our back
door. Finally the little birds began to hatch only to be eaten
shortly thereafter by one of our friendly neighborhood cats.

This is another baby bird I befriended. It was hopping
around the backyard, no mother in sight. I must have
spooked it & it took refuge in our rose bush (smart bird). Being
an unwavering animal lover, I found a worm & proceeded to break little
pieces off to feed the poor hungry creature (gros I know...)

Here are the images of our infamious bats. At the first taste of warm weather, we sit in the backyard and count the bats coming
out of the eave at dust. I had counted over 80 one night. There's nothing like sitting back, enjoying some cold suds and watching
the flight of the bats UNTIL...the little bastards decided to take refuge in our house on cold nights.

After the baby came along I didn't think it would be safe to have a bat wandering the house...I wanted them gone.
You may notice the picture of the cage hanging off the eave, well thats how we got rid of the bats. We hired Darcy
to remove the bats and seal up all holes. That was 2003...we haven't seen one since.

Our neighbour, Linda, keeps a small hobby farm with sheep, hens, rabbits and miniature donkeys. Here's
a picture of one of the baby's...it's not bigger than a large dog. What a cutie!

Living in Newfoundland, I have never seem a wasp this big. I had to take a picture of the
beast. The stinger must have been 4 feet long (well...at first sight anyway :-)

Here's a picture of our friendly frog. I think it's the same frog that has been around the house
for a couple of years now.

A cross between a guina pig and and a hippo :)
This is wrinkles, the hairless skinny pig. My Niece Robyn got the little guy for Chrismas 2003.

Too bad it wasn't Thanksgiving Day because we had a visit from a wild turkey. I've never seen one fly
in my life until this day. The turkey got startled when I came face-to-turkey and he flew up
and landed on our new pergola in the backyard.
